Cetin Aydar, viola
Born in Ankara in 1963. He was enrolled at the Ankara State Conservatory in 1977 where he became the student of Prof. Koral Çalgan. Aydar started his career when he was a student and gave performances in Ankara, Istanbul and abroad.In 1985, he won the first prize in duo category and awarded for the best contemporary work interpretation ( for Britten's “Lachrymae”) with pianist Can Coker in “5th National Music Competition”. Folowing his graduation from Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in 1986, he was appointed as amember to the Presidental Symphony Orchestra and remained in the same position until 1988, when sent to Germany with Turkish State Scolarship.
He graduated from the class of Prof. Emile Cantor in Staatliche Hochscuke Für Musikk Trossingen with the highest degree. He has continued his professional life with Württembergisches Kammerorchester-Heilbronn in Germany and with Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra in Denmark.Following his return to Turkey, Aydar was appointed as lecturer to Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory-Izmir.In September 2000, he organized and realized “1. National Viola Competition” in co-operation with Rusen Gunes.Succesfully completing his doctorate studies in Dokuz Eylül University in 2002, Aydar became Associate Proffessor in 2004. He was afounding member for both Izmir Viola Ensemble and Mimesis Solists, which he conttinues to perform with. He also continues his groups, such as Orpheus Quartett (Germany), Le Solist de Geneve (Switzerland), Württembergisches Kammerorchester (Germany), Aarhus Symfoniorkester (Denmark).
