The Art of Lied

Dates: August 8-12, 2015

The Art of Lied, is led by the internationally renowned singer Ulf Bästlein and professor at the Graz Music and Performing Arts Academy. This is a vocal workshop offering intensive daily study of Art songs including the repertoire of Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Mahler, Debussy and Strauss. In addition to vocal instruction, a special focus will be given to stylistic interpretation, study of language and its poetry, as well as meaningful collaboration with piano. Students will receive daily lessons in masterclass setting as well as additional coachings with pianists. The course will finish with a concert for all participants.
