CYRILLE VAN POUCKE Trumpet and Free improvisation
Cyrille van Poucke studied trumpet at the Amsterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands with Mr. Klaas Kos. During his study he already distinguished himself performing with the major Dutch orchestras as well as with the Dutch National Youth Orchestra and the Schlesswig Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra with conductors Leonard Bernstein, Sergiu Celibidache and Georg Solti.
Since 1987 he has served as first trumpeter in the Dutch Radio Orchestras, first in the Radio Symphony Orchestra and since 2005 in the Radio Kamer Filharmonie. Mr. van Poucke has also performed with major orchestras in Germany(Münchner Philharmoniker en het Berliner Symfonie Orchester), Belgium(Koninklijk Filharmonisch Orkest Vlaanderen) and Spain(Orquestra de Cadaqués). He has performed as soloist in the Holland Festival in the premiere of “Orchester Finalisten” by K.H. Stockhausen, the Schlesswig Holstein Musik Festival, the Hong Kong Music Festival and the Salzburger Festspiele. Mr. van Poucke has performed chamber music with the Amsterdam Bach Soloists, The Dutch Wind Ensemble, The Amsterdam Brass Quintet(prize winner in the International Competition in Narbonne, France) and The Combattimento Consort Amsterdam. He has also performed in Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast, Evita and Mary Poppins. Mr. van Poucke has been on the trumpet faculty at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany.
Since 2003 he is involved in educational projects and workshops in the Music Center of the Dutch Radio: Creative Music Making(www.mco.nl/educatie). Cyrille van Poucke can be regularly heard with the Ives Ensemble, the Holland Wind Players, Camerata Amsterdam and the Residentie Bach Orchestra.
