Sinan Dizmen, cello - Born in Ankara, Dizmen took his first music lessons from his father Özkan Dizmen and entered the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatoire in 1984. He graduated from the Conservatoire in 1994 and won a D.A.A.D. scholarship in 1996 to further his studies in Germany. He studied cello with Prof. Ulf Tischbirek and chamber music with Prof. Konrad Elser and Prof. Walter Levin at the Lübeck Musikhochschule and completed Künstlerische Aufbau and Konzertexamen degrees. He performed solo concerts at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and in other venues in Germany, and Kasna Spring Festival in Poland. He was a member of the Lübeck Quartet, Lübeck Musikhochschule Orchestra, Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, Vogtland and Lübeck Philharmonic orchestras. Dizmen attended masterclasses with Franz Helmerson, Alexander Rudin and Siegfield Palm, and completed his doctoral studies at Bilkent University with Hayrettin Hodja in 2006.
Dizmen has performed as a soloist with such conductors as Hikmet Şimşek, Gürer Aykal, Emil Tabakov, İbrahim Yazıcı, Arian Tien, Rengim Gökmen and Cem Mansur with orchestras throughout Turkey. His wide repertoire includes works from the baroque to contemporary periods. Dizmen was appointed as Associate Professor of Cello at the Ankara University State Conservatory in March 2011. He is a founding member of the Ankara University Soloists with whom he performed chamber music with Idil Biret, Johannes Moser and Ruşen Guneş among others.
