Cenk Güray, bağlama - Born in Ankara 1973. He received a bachelor’s degree in 1995, a master’s degree in 1998 and a Ph.D.in 2003 from the Mining Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University. In 2006 he received a master’s degree in Musicology from Başkent University and in 2012 he received a Ph.D. in Turkish Religious Music from Ankara University Faculty of Divinity. Currently he is working as an Associate Professor of Musicology in Yıldırm Beyazıt University Conservatory for Turkish Music being mainly concentrated on "Turkish Music Theory" and "Turkish Religious Music". As a bağlama performer he had the chance of being inspired from many musicians like Erhan Kürkçü, Mehmet Semiz, Okan Murat Öztürk, Veysel Aydın, Selçuk Sipahioğlu, Hasan Erdoğan, Süleyman Erguner, Tahir Aydoğdu, Durul Gence, Murat Arkan, Erkan Oğur, Murat Salim Tokaç, Ali Fuat Aydın, Sarp Maden, Muammer Ketencoğlu and forming groups like ABİS-Experimental Music Ensemble, Mediterranean Orchestra, Yağmur Öncesi ve METU Turkish Folklore Club Bağlama Orchestra. As a performer and researcher he had taken place as a speaker and director in many symposiums, conferences, concerts, seminars, workshops, masterclasses, TV-Radio programs and CD projects worldwide.
