Murat Salim Tokaç , Tambur & Ney - Dr. Murat Salim Tokaç is considered as one of the foremost ney and tanbur players of our time. He was born in Kırıkkale, 1969. He entered the Faculty of Medicine of 19 Mayıs University, Samsun in 1986, from where he was graduated in 1992. He also finished his PH.D. in microbiology in the same faculty. In 1991, Murat Salim Tokaç was appointed to the Ministry of Culture Samsun Classical Turkish Music Chorus which was established the same year. He had been the art director of the same chorus between 2005 and 2007. In 2007, he started to work as the art director of Turkish Music Research and Performance Ensemble established in İstanbul. Besides of his concerts with these ensembles, he has performed individually in recitals and TV shows in Turkey. He has also performed in many concerts individually or with different ensembles and given  seminars on tanbur and ney, in all the countries of Europe and in USA, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Armenia, Australia and Russia.  In 1998, he was rewarded as the “Musician of the year”, by the Association of Industrialists and Business Men of Black Sea Region.

Currently Dr. Murat Salim Tokaç who has many published papers in various journals is working as the General Director of Fine Arts besides his position of an art director in the Turkish Music Research and Performance Ensemble.
